Winter Beach sits on US 1 between Wabasso and Gifford, in ZIP 32971. It started as Woodley in the 1890s, became Quay in 1902, and took the name Winter Beach in 1922 under the slogan "Where the Sunshine Spends the Winter." In 1925 it nearly became the county seat before Vero won out (Winter Beach, Florida).

The population has tripled since 2000, so newer homes on county water sit beside older properties that still use their own well. Irrigation wells are common on both.
- Newer homes, first well problems. It's usually a switch or tank, not the pump.
- Older wells with worn jet pumps and corroded fittings.
- Dry-spring demand that keeps irrigation pumps running for hours.
Short cycling? Act early
If the pump clicks on and off every few seconds, the tank has probably lost its air charge. Fixing it now is far cheaper than a burnt-out pump later. See pressure tanks and switches.
Common questions
Is Winter Beach covered?
Yes, all of Winter Beach on both sides of US 1.
My newer home's well pump keeps clicking. Is it failing?
Probably not the pump. It's usually the pressure tank or switch, and fixing it early protects the pump.
Do you fix sprinkler pumps on homes with county water?
Yes. Irrigation pumps are one of our most common calls.
