Micco is an unincorporated community on the Indian River in south Brevard County, just across the St. Sebastian River from Indian River County. Frank Smith settled here in 1877. A post office opened as Chipco in 1880 and reopened as Micco in 1884 (Micco, Florida). Today about 9,600 people live here, including Barefoot Bay, with Grant-Valkaria to the north and Deer Run to the west.
Call (321) 220-9883Micco well calls
Outside Barefoot Bay, Micco has larger lots, and many use a private well for the house as well as the yard. Deeper household wells usually run submersible pumps, and irrigation wells use jet pumps.
- Pumps that trip the breaker after summer lightning.
- Pressure that fades as an old pump wears.
- Short cycling from a failing tank.
Retired and on your own?
Don't try to pull a pump or open live switch covers yourself. Check the breaker once, then call. The contractor will tell you what failed and the price before any work starts.
Common questions
Is Micco covered even though it's in Brevard County?
Yes. Micco shares Sebastian's 32976 ZIP and is part of our service area.
How do I know if I have a submersible or jet pump?
If you can see a pump motor above ground next to the tank, it's a jet pump. If there's only a well cap and a tank, the pump is down in the well.
My pump trips the breaker after a storm. Is it ruined?
Not always. It could be a switch, capacitor or wiring. Leave the breaker off and have it tested.
