Blue Cypress Lake is the largest lake on the Treasure Coast, over 6,500 acres, and the headwaters of the St. Johns River. It sits in far western Indian River County, about four miles off SR 60. Homes are few: Blue Cypress Village, a hamlet of about 70 units, and a fish camp with cabins and manufactured homes (Blue Cypress Lake).
Call (321) 220-9883Remote wells
There are no city water lines out here, so homes and cabins depend on private wells. Remote wells mean:
- A longer drive for the contractor, so describe the problem fully when you call to make sure the right parts come.
- Lightning over open marsh and pasture.
- Pumps that sit idle between weekend visits, then fail to prime.
Before you call
Note the pump type (motor above ground, or only a well cap), whether the breaker trips, and what the pressure gauge reads. It can save a second trip.
Common questions
Do you really come out to Blue Cypress Lake?
Yes. Expect a longer travel time than in town, and you'll be told the earliest arrival when you call.
My cabin pump won't prime after weeks unused. Why?
Water drains back when a check or foot valve leaks. The valve needs fixing, not just a re-prime.
Is the lake water OK for my well?
Your well draws groundwater, not lake water. Testing it once a year is still a good idea.
